Getting Started

Everything you need to go from download to your first match.

Download the App

Mixed Nuts is available on both iOS and Android. Download it from the App Store or Google Play.

Create an Account

You can create an account in three ways:

• Email and password -- enter your name, email address, and a password (minimum 6 characters). You will receive a verification code via email to confirm your address.
• Google Sign-In -- tap "Sign in with Google" and select your Google account. Your name and email are imported automatically.
• Apple Sign-In -- tap "Sign in with Apple" and authenticate with Face ID, Touch ID, or your Apple ID password. You can choose to share or hide your email.

Create Your First Group

After signing in, tap "Create Group" and fill in the details:

• Group name -- something your members will recognize (e.g., "Tuesday Night Basketball")
• Sport -- select or type your sport
• Timezone -- all match times are displayed in this timezone
• Recurrence schedule -- set up a recurring pattern (e.g., every Tuesday at 7:00 PM) and Mixed Nuts will generate matches automatically
• Max players -- the maximum number of confirmed players per match
• Location -- where you play (optional but helpful for members)

Invite Members

Once your group is created, invite members by sharing the invite link or invite code. You can find both on the group details screen. Members who tap the link or enter the code will be added to the group immediately.

Your First Match

If you set up a recurring schedule, matches are generated automatically for upcoming dates. Each match appears on the group screen with its date, time, and current roster count.

To participate in a match, tap it and then tap "Opt In." If the roster is full, you will be placed in the reserve queue. If a confirmed player drops out, the first reserve is promoted and notified.

You can also opt out of any match you previously opted into. Your spot will be released and the next reserve (if any) will be promoted.
