Mixed Nuts ("we", "our", "us") operates the Mixed Nuts mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our app.
Information We Collect
We collect information that you provide directly and information generated through your use of the service:
- Account information -- name, email address, and password hash
- Group membership and roles -- which groups you belong to and your role (owner, admin, member)
- Match schedules and roster participation -- your opt-in/out status, confirmed/reserve status
- Chat messages -- messages you send in group chat
- Device tokens -- push notification tokens for delivering notifications to your device
- Subscription and payment metadata -- processed via Apple App Store or Google Play Store; we never see or store your payment details
How We Use Your Information
- Provide and maintain the service, including scheduling, roster management, and chat
- Send notifications -- push notifications and email alerts for roster changes, match updates, and chat messages
- Process Pro subscriptions via the Apple App Store and Google Play Store
- Monitor for abuse and enforce our Terms of Use
- Improve the service based on usage patterns and crash reports
Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate Mixed Nuts:
- Google Sign-In -- authentication for users who choose to sign in with Google
- Apple Sign-In -- authentication for users who choose to sign in with Apple
- Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) -- delivers push notifications to Android devices
- Apple Push Notification Service (APNs) -- delivers push notifications to iOS devices
- Azure Notification Hubs -- routes push notifications to FCM and APNs
- Apple App Store / Google Play Store -- processes payments for Pro subscriptions; payment details are handled entirely by Apple or Google
- Sentry -- crash reporting and performance monitoring to help us identify and fix issues
Each third-party service operates under its own privacy policy. We encourage you to review their policies.
Data Retention
- Account data is retained while your account is active
- Account data is deleted upon request
- Chat messages are deleted when the group they belong to is deleted
- Apple and Google retain payment records per their own privacy policies and legal obligations
Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information:
- All data transmitted between your device and our servers is encrypted via HTTPS/TLS
- Data at rest is encrypted in Azure SQL Database
- Authentication tokens are protected via Azure Key Vault
- Passwords are stored as salted hashes -- we never store plaintext passwords
Children's Privacy
Mixed Nuts is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us through the app and we will promptly delete it.
International Data Transfer
Your data is processed and stored in the United States via Microsoft Azure. By using Mixed Nuts, you consent to the transfer, processing, and storage of your information in the United States, which may have different data protection laws than your country of residence.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Request access to the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your account and associated data -- use the in-app account deletion feature
- Opt out of marketing emails (we currently do not send marketing emails)
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification. Your continued use of Mixed Nuts after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
